About me - Levi Kalinsky

I was raised on a farm near the small community of Iron River, in North Eastern Alberta. Iron River is about 35 minutes West of Cold Lake. It was there that I grew to love exploring, story telling and adventure. Farming at the tree line didn't provide the best farm land but provided plenty of opportunities to fish, hunt and explore.

After attending high school In Bonnyville Alberta I attended NAIT in Edmonton and earned a Diploma in Geological Technology with a focus on Exploration. I worked in Northern B.C. for two seasons as a Geo Tech which is where I began to gain an interest in photography and deepened my interest in geology. I then went on to complete a BSc majoring in Geology at the University of Saskatchewan.

I currently live in Saskatoon with my Wife Michelle who is also a Geologist. Most of my free time is filled with fishing, camping and photography. I thoroughly enjoy researching new places to explore and reading up on fisheries management. I am always interested in local ecology, and love to share things I learn. I created this website to share experiences, photos and stories with family, friends and people with common interests. It is my hope that this blog encourages others to take advantage of all of the outdoor experiences that are in their back yard.

This website is a work in progress and I am new to blogging so please don't hesitate point out if things aren't working properly and if I have made errors. Thanks
